The mark is constructed, never drawn

Datum L (certainty) + clock track (measure), grid N=12, module u, canvas 12u. The tick — carried forward from the previous identity, redrawn at 45° on the grid, two modules wide — is the only tick in the product. Quiet zone ≥ 1u. Proof before mark: no PASS composition renders before the server's verdict. These three files are the mark; nothing pastes, forks, or redraws it.

The performance, playable

The mark is built from a scanning geometry — a datum that fixes the reading and a clock track that measures it. That construction is an animation system, and these are the only moves the product makes. Each exhibit below is the shipped class, replayable, because a ceremony that plays once cannot be studied. Nothing here gates a working action: the page is usable while it plays (§9.5).

The arrival

The datum is written first, the ten clock modules land in reading order 40 ms apart, and the tick strikes last. First sight teaches the construction without a caption. It plays once per session — a ceremony repeated on every navigation is furniture.

The verdict strike

The tick is struck, never faded in: one 45° stroke drawn along the mark's own geometry, at --t-verdict, with the product's only overshoot easing. The frame stands here with no tick because no verdict has been established — the strike never runs before the server has answered, and the sound arrives with the final stroke, not near it.

Checking the registry

The measure, measuring

No spinner exists in this product. Every wait is the mark's own clock track filling in sequence — ten modules, the same ten that land in the arrival. A wait is the instrument working, not a placeholder apologising.

The grid resolving

The loading surface is the code's own module grid sweeping, not a grey skeleton bar. A skeleton pretends to be text that does not exist yet; a resolving grid says the truth — the reading is still being made. Zero corner radius: this is print, not a card.

Press physics

Press it. The control travels one pixel and its shadow goes flat — key-feel, not a colour swap. An operator wearing gloves, working a line, has to know the instrument answered the hand. Under reduced motion the travel is removed and the control still responds.

The datum corner

Focus it. The field does not merely outline — the frame's own corners close on it, solid datum at the bottom left, clock corner at the top right, in the issuer's blue. The lens rule at micro scale: what Pramaan attests appears inside the frame.

The perforated issue edge

A certificate is issued, not displayed. It feeds from a perforated edge the way a ticket leaves a machine — the record is a thing that was produced at a moment, by a named issuer, and can be produced again. The perforation is the clock track at the edge of the stock.

The stock

The code's own grid, at module pitch, in the material of both grounds — 2% on paper, 3% on ink. Security paper, literally: felt at arm's length, seen only when you lean in. It is the reason a Pramaan surface does not read as a white rectangle. This whole page is printed on it.

The display setting

Proof, established.

The setting for the certificate verdict, the door headline and the report wordmark — the three places the type has to carry the product. Display size is composed per surface: size, weight, tracking and measure chosen for the moment, not a body setting scaled up.

The same face at the same size with the body tracking left in place. Setting display type on body values is the commonest way a serif looks amateur at size, and it is why .display exists rather than a font-size alone.

This panel used to claim an optical-size axis, contrasting opsz 60 against opsz 12. The two panels rendered identically, and always had: the webfont CDN served static instances, so the axis was never in the product. Corrected 8 Aug 2026 with the move to self-hosted IBM Plex — a specimen page that demonstrates a difference the product cannot make is worse than no specimen at all.

Left column: tabular figures, every digit on the same advance, so a count read down a ledger is read as one shape. Canonical implementations: apps/api/src/public/format.js (client) and apps/api/src/modules/brand/format.ts (server). Nothing formats these by hand — a date written two ways is the same defect as a green written two ways.

The bilingual lockup

One treatment, reused at every size. प्रमाण is not a second line bolted under the Latin: the two are composed on a shared baseline with the Devanagari optically matched, because its x-height runs larger at equal em. Devanagari never appears without the Latin name adjacent, and Noto Serif Devanagari is actually loaded on every surface that sets it.

Sentence case; Title Case for institutional proper nouns; verdicts and headlines end with a full stop. Not cleared never implies counterfeit, and we couldn't establish this code is not an accusation — the product never claims certainty it does not have.

§6 · Sound

Three tiers, written law

The verdict sound arrives with the final stroke of the tick, not near it: colour, shape, word and sound each carry the verdict independently, and it reaches assistive technology as one complete statement rather than a stream of fragments.
